The path opened up before her.  It was late afternoon and the sun dotted the ground through the open spaces left by the leaves of the trees.  The sparse canopy that it created was a welcome break.  As the wind blew the sunspots danced and played on the ground making her smile even though she had been walking most of the day. Branches lazily stretched out from the ground reaching for the sky inviting her to sit and relax for a moment before she continued on in her journey.

Any comments? I enjoy writing fiction so I looked at it from that point of view and what it might look like to someone who has just stumbled upon it.  Help me tweak it!

Cool! It makes me wonder where she's going and why. Is she running to or away from something? What is her destination, and why did she have to walk through the woods to get there? I like the possibilities for conflict here.

You make this sound like such a lovely place, one I want to visit. Are you going to divulge to us where these places are that you're describing? I'd like to know!

This place happens to be around Montazuma's Castle in Arizona. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Great descriptive paragraph, Annay. No suggestions for improvement.

By the way, I noticed I'm not on your blogroll of those doing the challenge. I hope I haven't missed anyone on mine! If you get a chance to visit my blog from time to time during the month, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!
