This book has suspense by the truck loads! From the moment I picked it up and started the first chapter, I knew I would like this book. There aren't that many books available any more that can induce that kind of feeling in a reader, but Shadows of the Past does. The author does some of the best character development in this genre and if any of her other books are an indicator, this one will be a hit! The fact that you get two subplots that the main character has to deal with only adds to the excitement. I literally couldn't put the book down and I attribute that to the author's incredible storytelling. I found the book to be very well written and I was able to envision every character and setting with ease which always make the read more enjoyable. If you are looking for a suspenseful poolside book, you can't go wrong with this one or any of Annay Dawson's other books!
