It was the day of meetings here in my world. I started with a 7:15 one, then I had one at the end of the day, and the last one this evening. I finally got down to doing the one thing I really wanted to do and that was to take a few minutes to write. The worst part of having to work full time doing something else, although be it something I love to do, is that I don't have as much time to write as I would like. I keep drifting off with good ideas and no time to get them all down on paper. So I just have to file them until I have time to get to the writing of my new story. Yes, a new story. I'm still in the finishing stages of the this book and hope to have it out this summer, the title is 'Treason's Reward' but I find editing sometimes stifling creatively.

I hear you, Annay. Although I don't have a "day job," I have plenty of things that pull me away from my writing. Answering emails is one of them! Then, my oldest daughter and her son have just moved in with us, and that changes everything! Good luck.
Do you keep a small journal or something nearby so you can jot down the idea really quick? As an illustrator, I keep a small sketchbook in my purse for just such purposes (though it's filled with as many doodles as notes).
Now, today was my day of meetings, one at 9:15 in the morning and my critique group tonight at 7:00. I was able to get some editing, blogging, and social networking done inbetween the two, though.
I tried keeping a journal at one time, still kind of do, and found that sometimes it's really more motivating for me if I don't. Then I have to get to the writing part so that I won't forget it.
