She sat on the empty beach alone in more ways than she wanted to count.  Her children were now grown and gone, her husband had died just two months ago from a massive heart attack and she had had no one to turn to.  No one but her brother who had lived on the coast all his life.  It was strange and somewhat isolated even if he lived in a large city.  On days like this the fog seemed to close in on her mood and keep any would be surfers out of the endless pool of water.  Her brother had been happy to have her move in a month ago, but now it felt like it was time for her to move on.  She was still young, only in her mid-fifties.  She was just afraid that starting again at her age was more than she could take.  Today, she would tell her brother today, that she was moving out on Monday.

Again another picture of one of my favorite places in Mexico on the Pacific side of the Baja.  I also get a lot of time to think there but usually it's happier thoughts than my protagonist just had.

Lovely evocative photograph . . . it goes nicely with the somber passage you've written here.

Nice mood setting here. Paints a picture as good as a photo.
