Falling out of the Dictionary
Some days when you edit you think that all is well and then the dictionary falls upon your head. You've made the most of the thesaurus and the writing style and elements books and then you get the false hope that you are done. Remember I said false hope. As I look over the final edit to my new book I find that the dictionary is still the one book that can bring me to my knees. You see I make mistakes that are only common to me and if I don't bother to look up the word in the dictionary I find myself wandering and wondering. I may be loose when I should be lose. And don't get me started on the word chose. I suppose we all have an Achilles Heal, mine is spelling. As I write the next few words I am eternally grateful to the man, woman, or cyberdude who created spell check.

I agree - I love my dictionary. I know the info is available online but I like flipping the pages and searching for a word.

There is nothing like the feel of a real book.
